I know that the characters you create aren't perfect matches to their inspiration, so maybe people shouldn't identify with them too much, but I know at least one person has expressed discomfort at zir character being discussed. And, well, when you consider how some of us have treated the completely fictional characters... We can be a harsh bunch, is what I'm saying.
This is a risk that we all took when we submitted characters to T: most of those who submitted have been reading since P&A (I am presuming), and thus were aware how passionate readers can get about their feelings towards characters in the comic.
Those of use who have characters in the story just need to remember to separate ourselves from the comic a bit, is all.
It's simply going to be too difficult to monitor what people state about inspired characters, in my opinion.
