Also, under the "Republicans other than Romney" category, I'd have added Meghan McCain, for reasons that both Aggie and subsequent forum discussion have covered.

Please. If anypony is fit for the office, it's Celestia. She's always right (except for that one time she wasn't, in the second season finale) and she has the combined skills of all three pony types, thus representing the three branches of the U.S. government. (I'll leave it to you all to figure out which pony type corresponds to which branch.)
