Objection! Assuming facts not in evidence.

There's an obvious timeskip between the last strip and this one, and probably a large one, in which he could get the information from Michael, the EMTs, or the campus cops.

It is currently possible that Hank is lying (he's not above deception, as we see in the Hank/Clarice sitch), however, it's also equally possible that he's not (and what would his motive in lying here even be?).

I would think to instill terror in the perp to cause him to give himself away. It's an interesting angle, props to grimm for thinking of it...Hank seems cagey enough to go there.

I'd think a more likely scenario (if he's lying) is that he wants to do what he never got to do in his flashback - confront the evildoer.

or that he could save someone, and remove whatever guilt he has.
And then where would you be? apart from in a box, that's the bit I don't like, frankly
