Just steam off the label and wash it out and you can claim it was a root beer bottle.

Never lived in a dorm and never drank a beer until I was 23, but I have a knack for figuring out solutions to other people's problems.

I've never seen rootbeer come in anything but the same bottles as other soft drinks.

It's also sold in glass bottles, so it's a legit strategy.

As a side note, does Sara look guilty because she decided to help finish off the bottle anyway?

IBC and Stewart's both use brown glass bottle that look just like beer bottles. (They both taste better than real beer, too...)

I have to say, this is one of Sara's dumber moves, though. Like no one will notice a beer bottle in the recyclables?

Someone might, but if no one saw who dropped it in there, what are they going to do about it? Dust for fingerprints? :)

SCENE: College Reycling Police Headquarters (yes, it IS a thing)

Excited Rookie: (reading report) Oh my God, Chief, someone drank a beer in a college dorm!

Grizzled Chief: Go to red alert! Comb the campus, I want this malefactor found! And stop calling me 'Chief', dammit!

Excited Rookie: Yes, Chief! (runs off)

Grizzled Chief: (sighs) I'm too old for this s#!+...

I remember, I was on a very dry campus (most graduated with associates; nearly everyone was underage) and I literally saw handles of gin in the trash from time to time. They might have been the RD's... never asked.
